Default Guild question

I was wondering once you are in a guild are u in it for the life of your charcter or is there a way to leave your guild. I looked everywhere for that and I can't find it. Also if one of your charcters is in a guild are all of your charcters in teh same guild. Thanks

you can leave a guild by clicking on your name in the guild list and choosing the appropriate option.

i believe that currently, if you join a guild with one particular character, the rest of your characters will automatically be in that guild.

I think I'd prefer to have the option of being able to go off by myself once in a while... nothing against the guild members, but sometimes a body just needs a little "me" time, and without people calling him/her from guild channel everytime they come on. Especially (heaven forbid) there's someone in the guild they need/want to avoid, at least for a time.

But, that's just me.

Good idea Dave.

In FFXI they had something similar. You had special pearls, called linkpearls(like guild/clans) and you could unequip them at any time, even have multiple linkpearls.

The guilds were known as "Linkshells"

I think that would be nice for GW, but not with something stupid like 'pearls' maybe like passes or flags.

The only one who can't just leave is the guild creator..have to first designate a new leader before you can leave... other than that...yes you are right. You can leave at any time.

Has there been any talk about not forcing all characters on your account to be in the same guild? One of the reasons I would want to play different characters would be to roleplay a completely different character that includes different affiliations and such. Forcing all characters on my account to be in the same guild also takes away a character I might make that others wouldnt know so I could feel free and do my own thing without having other people calling for me. This assumes I was in a larger guild as has happened to me before in other games.

I think its this way to make it easier on the leader so they dont have to invite everysingle alt. that others want to have in guild.. also to save space and memory ont he guild memeber's list.. tho it would be nice to be able to disable guildchat in the guild members list and have a flag by your name if its turned off so they know..
